Bracketology Update: March 14, 2021

Bracketology on the morning of Selection Sunday. What a crazy, crazy day. Two major bid thieves. Georgetown and Oregon State shocked the college basketball world. That means we could be saying goodbye to a few Mountain West teams and Drake. Along with Saint Louis who I am very surprised didn’t schedule a game for this weekend.

Memphis blew its last shot at getting in after another heartbreaker to Houston. Wichita State lost to Cincinnati putting the Shockers deep on the bubble. If Georgia Tech was nervous, it isn’t anymore after winning the wild ACC Tournament. Utah State fell to San Diego State, but the Aggies’ win over Colorado State should be enough to keep them in. LSU stunned Arkansas, but the Razorbacks are pretty comfortable on the three line.

Sorry Ohio State, you still aren’t getting a one seed. Even if you beat Illinois in the Big Ten Championship. Look up Michigan State, 2016. Rick Pitino is back in the NCAA Tournament. Fifth different team after Iona won the MAAC. My Prairie View A&M lost. We will more than likely not see Charles Bassey in the NCAA Tournament. UCSB was able to knock off UC-Irvine’s reign in the Big West. Grand Canyon finally picked off New Mexico State. The Antelopes will not get a 16 so we won’t have the Drew brothers playing each other.

There’s one more bid thief looming. Cincinnati has a chance to beat Houston, put the Bearcats back in the NCAA Tournament and kill another bubble team’s dreams.

Christmas has arrived. We will have one more bracket out before the Selection Show.

Check us all out on the ever-growing and changing Bracket Matrix.
