Texas basketball vs. Texas Tech quarterfinal preview

Texas basketball is playing against Texas Tech in a Big 12 tournament quarterfinal matchup on Thursday. The winner will advance to the semifinals and be one step closer to getting an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Let’s break down the teams. Texas offense This offense has played pretty good as of late, which resulted in the Longhorns going 3-0 on their last three games. However, the last time the Longhorns matched up with the Red Raiders just two weeks ago, they scored a season low 59 points. That can’t happen in this tournament at all or they’ll be sitting on the couch at home watching the NCAA Tournament. This is potentially the final matchup of the season these two squads will

2021 NFL Draft: Cornerbacks Big Board

The 2021 NFL Draft cornerbacks big board might have the deepest group of all the positions on the defensive side of the ball. I believe the top seven players on the board can come in and instantly be relied on as starting caliber players. There are going to be guys that slide into the fourth and fifth rounds who could turn into solid contributors as well with some NFL coaching. With the league moving more and more toward sub-packages and passing on early downs, as many as 30-35 guys could be drafted from this group. Cornerback Big Board 1) Patrick Surtain II – Alabama 2) Caleb Farley – Virginia Tech 3) Jaycee Horn – South Carolina 4) Greg Newsome II – Northwestern 5) Asante Samuel Jr.

DePaul basketball earns opening round win

Going into the first round of the Big East Conference Tournament, hardly anyone expected 11th-seeded DePaul basketball to win a game, but on Wednesday night, the Blue Demons defeated the Providence Friars 70-62 to move on to the quarterfinals. In the regular season, DePaul was swept by the Friars, though one game went to double overtime to be decided. On Wednesday night, thanks to standout performances from DePaul’s top shooters Javon Freeman-Liberty and Charlie Moore as well as one of the Demons’ best defensive nights of the year, they put on a show to upset the sixth-seeded Friars and to win their opening round game for the second straight year. The Demons got off to a bit of a slow start, kicking off

2021 NFL Draft: Quarterbacks Big Board

Another draft and another year where quarterback will be the first position off the board. This class of players has a chance to be incredibly special thanks to the elite talent at the top of this group. Guys like Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields have been high-touted prospects since their high school days. While others like Zach Wilson and Trey Lance have come from unheralded backgrounds to elite talents. There is a lot that goes into quarterback play in the NFL but on talent alone, this group is one of the best in recent years. Quarterback Big Board 1) Trevor Lawrence – Clemson 2) Zach Wilson – BYU 3) Justin Fields – Ohio State 4) Trey Lance – North Dakota State 5) Mac Jones – Alabama 6)

Texas basketball vs. TCU preview

Texas basketball has a chance to end its season on a high note with the upcoming matchup against TCU. The last time these two teams played, the Longhorns controlled the game and won by a big margin. The final score after their first matchup was 70-55. Let’s take a look at both of these squads. Texas offense Despite losing big in the first game, TCU was still able to hold the Longhorns to one of their lowest scoring games of the season. This offense needs to show when it is playing less talented teams, it needs to dominate. Texas needs to show it’s a superior team and give itself some confidence before the Big 12 Tournament. Texas only got to match up

Nevada basketball stuns Colorado State with buzzer beater

While its final regular season game got off to a rough start, Nevada basketball managed to upset the Colorado State Rams with an electric second half performance. This win was major for coach Steve Alford and his players, effectively placing them in a higher seed for the Mountain West Tournament starting on Wednesday, March 10. Nevada basketball’s first half against Colorado State was a little lackluster, shooting 39.3% on field goals, 31.3% on 3-pointers and 11 turnovers. The Rams outplayed the Wolf Pack at almost every turn with tricky passes and backdoor cuts on offense and read Nevada’s offense very well, forcing errors and turnovers. Colorado State players Kendle Moore, Isaiah Stevens and David Roddy had already put up 31 points

2021 NFL Draft: Safeties Big Board

Continuing the positional big board series, today we take a look at the NFL Draft safeties class. Over the past several years there has been an average of around 20 safeties drafted per year. With the league continuing to move more toward passing and multiple formation looks, versatility on the back end of the defense is key. While there are not a lot of instant impact stars, the depth is solid, especially on day three. Whatever your team’s draft need is, this group likely has a few options that can fill that need. Safeties Big Board 1) Trevon Moehrig – TCU 2) Hamsah Nasirildeen – Florida State 3) Richie Grant – UCF 4) Jevon Holland – Oregon 5) Andre Cisco – Syracuse 6) James Wiggins – Cincinnati 7)

Texas basketball vs. Oklahoma preview

Texas basketball is looking to tie up the season series against its biggest rivals in Oklahoma on Thursday night. The Sooners snuck by with a close 80-79 win back in January. The Longhorns must win if they don’t want to give Oklahoma full bragging rights for the season. Let’s break down both squads. Texas Offense This offense did really well the last time it played against the Sooners. The Longhorns had five players score in double figures in the last matchup. They should focus on doing that again, as it will force Oklahoma's defense to spread out because it can’t focus on just one or two players. Just keep moving the ball around and trust that your teammates will get the job

2021 NFL Draft: Running Backs Big Board

The positional big board series will take a deeper dive into each position, ranking players who will likely hear their names called in the 2021 NFL Draft and a few notable guys who will be scooped up in the undrafted free agency signing period. We will kick this off with the running back a position, which on average sees around 20-25 guys drafted every year in the NFL. This year with a deep and versatile class, that number could be on the higher side of the average. Running Back Big Board 1) Najee Harris – Alabama 2) Javonte Williams – North Carolina 3) Travis Etienne – Clemson 4) Michael Carter – North Carolina 5) Khalil Herbert – Virginia Tech 6) Kenneth Gainwell – Memphis 7) Rhamondre Stevenson –

Oklahoma basketball: Sooner Madness starts before March

Oklahoma basketball took on rival Oklahoma State in a back-to-back header as the conference schedule comes to a close. Having unexpectedly prospered so much this season, Sooner basketball had huge expectations on their shoulders going into the Bedlam weekend. Unfortunately for the Sooners, it seems the end of conference play has proven to be too much pressure for Oklahoma basketball. After losing against an unranked Kansas State team, it seems that OU has been unable to recover and finish its season on a high note. The Sooners first met the Cowboys on the court earlier last week and though many expected a close game due to star Oklahoma state player and potential future first round draft pick Cade Cunningham, and the Sooners
