2020-21 preseason Bracketology

Did we ever think we were going to get to a preseason Bracketology? When we last left you in the world of Bracketology, we had a way-too-early Bracketology, but it just didn’t feel right. There was never closure to the 2019-20 season. No one truly knows how each bracketologist ended up. We will never talk about 2020 having any snubs. There was no Cinderella stories, no buzzer beaters and ultimately no Final Four and champion.

The offseason started without any warning. Guys declared for the draft. Guys stayed and guys returned to school. Guys entered the transfer portal. Most guys received a waiver, some haven’t yet and some won’t. There are a few guys who don’t even have a home, ala Kobe King and Nojel Eastern.

College basketball team schedules are starting to take form. Since each team has to make its own schedule, we might not know a few schedules until a day before the season starts. Right now there’s a whole slate of games that are supposed to take place on Wednesday, Nov. 25.News is constantly changing about early-season tournaments so stay tuned.

All the teams are basically finalized. Preseason Bracketology is in full swing and we all have a lot of optimism about this actually happening. I have enough information and feel very confident in publishing a Bracketology. Let’s all hope basketball stays as fairly clean as football and can learn from the mistakes some teams have made.

This is updated after the Ivy decided to scrap its basketball season. I hear Tommy Amaker is in the transfer portal. Also this is after they decided to make the NCAA Tournament all at one site, but still haven’t announced how the format will be and where the location is so we’re still sticking with regions until we know for sure the structure. Another edit that was made is taking Oklahoma State out. The Cowboys were given a one-year postseason ban, but they are appealing it and it’s still on going. They would be one of the last four in if eligible.

As always we will be on the bracket matrix again. Well at least I think so. I’ll have to get a hold of them.
