How about that thumbnail huh? I made it myself if you couldn’t tell. Well folks, its that time of the year again! College football in the Big 12 is back! It was looking kind of scary there for a while, but we’re finally here. Tomorrow, is a great day and every week I’m going to be giving you some insight on the teams and what to expect from them! So lets get into it with the first game on the schedule:
TCU vs. SMU
Unfortunately this game was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns so we don’t get to see TCU play this week, but have no fear, as in two weeks they take on Iowa State in what should be a fantastic game.
Prediction: ???
#23 Iowa State vs. Louisiana
Iowa State looks like the dark horse of the Big 12 yet again this year and honestly they have the right guys to go out and dominate the conference, returning quarterback Brock Purdy plans to take Matt Campbell’s offense to the Ragin’ Cajuns and get their first win of the season. All Big 12 fans should have eyes on the Cyclones, and all fans within the conference should be a little worried about them.
Prediction: Cyclones win 42-21
West Virginia vs. Eastern Kentucky
In a classic battle of East vs. West, I’m predicting the Mountaineers to pull through and get a 21-plus point win. But, you never know with a second year coach and new quarterback under center, things could get a little uncoordinated. Still, I see no reason why West Virginia should lose this game…
Prediction: Mountaineers win 35-27
Kansas State vs. Arkansas State
Skylar Thomson is BACK! That’s very exciting, especially for second year head coach Chris Klieman. Things shouldn’t get too hectic for the Wildcats to handle, but the Red Wolves did score 20 points to almost come back against Memphis so I’m predicting Kansas State’s defense gets punched in the mouth for a little bit, then settles down and holds on for the win.
Prediction: Wildcats win 51-42
Baylor vs. Louisiana Tech
Yet another game postponed due to positive COVID tests…this is going to be a trend for a while until everything returns to “normal.” Baylor’s next game is against Kansas on Sept. 26, so be on the look out for that.

#5 Oklahoma vs. Missouri State
What if I put Lose up there as a joke, haha. Wouldn’t that be funny? Nah, but in all seriousness Oklahoma is going to D E S T R O Y Missouri State. Unless Spencer Rattler is hot garbage and Lincoln Riley decides to take a NFL head coach job right before the game starts I really don’t see the Sooners losing this one.
Prediction: Sooners win 58-21
#14 Texas vs. UTEP
Hey! UT vs UT! But yeah, the Longhorns look competitive and I don’t see them losing this game to the Miners…crazier things have happened though (cough Maryland cough Kansas cough cough).
Prediction: Longhorns win 42-14
Texas Tech vs. Houston Baptist
A bit scary going into this game as a Red Raider fan. You had disappointment after disappointment with head coach Matt Wells, but you always have to wait and see what they can do with their recruiting knowledge and hoo boy did the Red Raiders get some help on defense! If Alan Bowman stays healthy and can pass the ball well…I see good things in the future for the Texas Tech football program (until COVID shuts down the season and then, disappointment again…).
Prediction: Red Raiders win 51-31
Kansas vs. Coastal Carolina
Yes I am predicting a clean sweep for the Big 12 in football. Yes I am predicting the Jayhawks to avenge their loss to Coastal Carolina on Saturday. Yes, I am biased and see that this is a toss up game and can be won by both sides easily. No, I wont be hurt if the Jayhawks lose.
Prediction: Jayhawks Win 31-28
