Big 12 football predictions - Week 4

big 12 football

Hey folks! We’re back with another week of Big 12 football matchups, and this time we have CONFERENCE GAMES! Now sit back, smash those morning beers and get ready for the best conference of college football kickoff!

Kansas State vs. #3 Oklahoma

An early matchup that can cause problems for the Sooners if they look past Kansas State, but I expect Lincoln Riley to keep his team focused and rout the Wildcats to go 2-0 in the season and start conference play undefeated.

Prediction: Oklahoma wins

Iowa State vs. TCU

We will finally get to see the Horned Frogs play some football (COVID willing), and I fully expect the Cyclones to redeem their pitiful loss to Louisiana. The Cyclones can certainly lose this game if they decide to not wake up on time and let TCU get too far ahead. I expect this to at least be competitive, if not a shootout, but TCU having no game time up until this moment will be its downfall.

Prediction: TCU wins

#8 Texas vs. Texas Tech

This one hurts to write. As much as I love my alma mater, I do not see this Red Raiders team winning against this really good Longhorn offense. Sam Ehlinger looks great and this is a real test as literally anything can happen in Lubbock, Texas. He’s faced this Red Raiders defense four times, and this is possibly the weakest version of the defense he’s faced. The only way Texas Tech can keep this close is for Alan Bowman to reach down and find that talent he had in his first year with Kilff Kingsbury and make the game a shootout. Should that happen, last one with the ball should win the game.

Prediction: Texas wins

West Virginia vs. #15 Oklahoma State

That’s right folks, I’m calling the upset in Bedlam. I want Chuba Hubbard to prove this wrong, and I want that Cowboy offense to wake up and explode. I also hope I’m right and we can get West Virginia ranked and Oklahoma State lower in rankings, which makes the conference look stronger as a whole.

Prediction: West Virginia wins

Kansas vs. Baylor

No upsets here. Sure, you could say Baylor hasn’t played so they’re in the same boat as TCU, and the Jayhawks have to prove themselves after their loss to Coastal Carolina, but nah. Baylor should win this game…Should.

Prediction: Baylor wins
