Notre Dame football: Do the Irish have a secure spot in Playoff?

Notre Dame football

For Notre Dame football, this is the first time it's ever playing in a conference championship. For the entirety of their existence, the Irish have been independent. That was until this year when Notre Dame broke that tradition and joined the ACC under much pressure. As COVID-19 was threatening the chance of having any normal season, the Irish made a decision that would give them better stability in a time of unknowns. Looking back, Notre Dame's journey in the ACC was quite successful. Being the only undefeated team in the conference, the Irish proved their dominance. Now, Notre Dame has the opportunity to continue this season in the College Football Playoff. Before there is any confirmation on the Irish's next step,

LSU football loses to Texas A&M

lsu football

Unfortunately, LSU football was unable to bring back another win against Texas A&M this season. After last year’s big win against the Aggies, LSU fans were confident about this game, but the way they played on Saturday definitely showed they are no longer that championship-winning team. With a low scoring game of 20-7, Texas A&M did not play all that well either. This was the lowest scoring game that LSU football has had in a very long time. Because both teams failed to put up a good fight, it was certainly a difficult game to watch. How LSU played LSU’s defense played a lot better than its offense did. It was able to slow down Kellen Mond and the rest of the Aggies’

LSU football vs. Texas A&M preview

lsu football

In Week 9’s matchup, LSU football is headed to Kyle Field on the campus of Texas A&M University. There will be some light rain during kickoff but aside from that, everything looks to be running smoothly which comes as a surprise for LSU due to the season it has been having. While Texas A&M is currently favored to win, the Tigers have a pretty good shot at defeating the Aggies. LSU had a pretty impressive win last week and to keep that up for a second week in a row, it is definitely going to have to work hard this Saturday. How LSU can win LSU certainly has the opportunity to beat Texas A&M. Afterall, it defeated the Aggies with a score of

Who’s the second best team in the SEC?

auburn football

It has been an interesting week and a half for SEC football. There were four games postponed last week, including the Auburn football team's matchup with Mississippi State. Another game has been postponed for this week. It is inevitable schedules will change down the stretch, especially if COVID-19 cases continue to rise. Nevertheless, here are some observations on Auburn, the SEC and everywhere else heading into what should be an entertaining week of college football. SEC: the race for second place Alabama is the most complete team in the conference right now. Florida is making people second guess that notion. Yeah, Florida scored 63 points against Arkansas. It is the Gators' defense that is alarming. It surrendered 35 points to Arkansas. Former

Mississippi State football drops third straight in loss to Texas A&M

Mississippi State football

I think it's safe to say the SEC has figured out the air raid offense. Mississippi State football dropped its third straight game in a loss against the No. 11 Texas A&M Aggies in a 28-14 loss. For the Aggies, it's their first win in Starkville since joining the SEC in 2012. “Just proud of our guys getting a win on the road in the SEC," said Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher postgame. "A 14-point win is a good win…thought our defense was outstanding on the day." The Aggie defense was certainly outstanding, holding the Bulldogs to negative two rushing yards thanks to six sacks. Three Mississippi State turnovers, including a blocked punt, helped set up Texas A&M in great field

Observations across SEC football after 3 weeks

sec football

It has been a hectic three weeks for SEC football. LSU went from looking terrible, to good, and then awful again by losing to Missouri. Everyone thought Mississippi State was a darkhorse contender after Week 1. The Bulldogs lost to Arkansas in their second game. Arkansas has been competitive in all three of its contests. Auburn was somewhat impressive in Game 1. The Tigers got bullied by Georgia and barely beat Arkansas the next two weeks. Florida was the darling of the first two weeks. Kyle Trask, Kyle Pitts and the Gators scored a combined 89 points in their first two games. The Gators' offense showed up against Texas A&M, but it turns out the Gators' defense is not what the league is accustomed to

Florida football: Path to contention narrows, but all is not lost

florida football

After two weeks of shakiness, the dam finally collapsed on Dan Mullen as his defense put up one of the worst performances seen from a Florida football team in years in a loss to Texas A&M. Wasted was another magnificent performance by a lethal Gators offense that scored on nearly every single possession. Led by quarterback Kyle Trask and tight end Kyle Pitts, the offense's maestro-like procession down the field was countered by a defensive effort that forced a grand total of one punt and one turnover, dropped countless interception opportunities and failed to get a stop at the end of the fourth quarter with the game on the line. Not all is lost, but this is a damning showing from a

College football Week 5 NFL Draft prospects

nfl draft prospects

Heading into Week 5 of the college football season, there are some top NFL Draft prospects in action on Saturday with several key conference matchups taking place. Texas A&M vs Alabama Bobby Brown III, IDL – Texas A&M Jaylen Waddle, WR – Alabama Texas A&M has a history of producing NFL defensive line prospects, and Bobby Brown III will look to keep that trend alive in 2021. Brown is a stout 315 pounds along the Aggie front where he has shown excellent lower body strength and anchoring ability. He will likely be relegated to a 0 or 1 tech at the next level due to his lack of pass rush ability outside of a straight bull rush. If he can show an improved motor

College Football Week 5 Games To Watch

college football week 5

Major upsets have already shown up through the first few weeks. With several key matchups in college football Week 5, will there be more shake up in major conferences? Let's take a look at this week's games to watch. South Carolina vs. Florida Date: Saturday, Oct. 3 Time: Noon ET TV: ESPN Spread: Florida -18.5 Florida looked strong out of the gate with an impressive win against Ole Miss. South Carolina also looked improved from last year albeit in a loss to Tennessee. Both teams will face a step up in competition on the defensive side of the ball, but with playmakers like Kyle Pitts and Shi Smith on the field, points will still be found. At this point, Florida simply has more talent at key positions on
