ACC Conference tournament betting preview

Deceptive Speed will break down every single conference tournament from a gambling perspective the day each tourney starts. You’ve lost quite a bit of money this month in the past whether it’s food, drinks, gambling or bracket pools. The goal for 2020 is to make you some money in March for the first time in your entire life.

We’ve finally made our way to the big boy conferences, and it all starts with the ACC Conference tournament. Let’s bet. Let’s gamble. Let’s win. Let’s party.

The Bracketology

Check out where things stand in the latest Deceptive Speed Bracketology.

Florida State (2)
Duke (3)
Louisville (4)
Virginia (7)
NC State (First 4 Out)

The Odds

Duke +190
Florida State +295
Louisville +300
Virginia +650
NC State/Notre Dame +2500
Clemson/Syracuse/North Carolina +2800
Miami +3500
Virginia Tech +15000
Boston College/Pittsburgh/Wake Forest +25000

The Suck

First off, how about North Carolina having the seventh best odds to win the ACC Conference tournament despite being in dead last as a 14 seed in the standings. You’ll probably want to stay away from that because it is the single worst value you will find in March. However, if you decide to take a flyer on Boston College, Pittsburgh or Wake Forest, your $10 bet turns into $2,500. Make the bet and get rich now.

The investment opportunity

If you decide against betting on either of the three worst teams in the tournament, I absolutely love Virginia with the +650 odds. There was a time not too long ago the Cavaliers found themselves on the bubble with a 15-7 overall record. Since then, Virginia rattled off 8 straight victories and has the best record away from home in the conference at 9-4. This is one of the hottest teams in the sport, and getting them at +650 is a fantastic investment opportunity.
