Atlantic Sun tournament gambling preview

Deceptive Speed will break down every single conference tournament from a gambling perspective the day each tourney starts. You’ve lost quite a bit of money this month in the past whether it’s food, drinks, gambling or bracket pools. The goal for March 2020 is to make you some money this month for the first time in your entire life.

Let’s get the conference tourney season going with a preview of the Atlantic Sun tournament with four games coming tonight.

The Bracket

The Bracketology

Deceptive Speed Bracketology shows Liberty to be a 13 seed as the automatic bid from the Atlantic Sun. No matter what happens during this tournament, only one team is invited to the dance.

The Odds

Liberty -450
North Florida +325
Lipscomb +1400
Jacksonville +5000
NJIT/North Alabama/Stetson +6000
Florida Gulf Coast +8000

The Suck

First of all, let’s make fun of Kennesaw State, which finished 1-28 overall this season. The Owls failed to win a conference game this season, and they’re not even invited to their own conference tournament. Tough to see. Remember when Florida Gulf Coast was exciting for those two games you watched like 8 years ago? Well if you bet them to win the Atlantic Sun tournament in 2020, a $10 bet would gain you $800 if they pull it off. I’d advise against it, but get out there and live your best life.

The Bet

Liberty is such a massive favorite, completely eliminating any value the Flames offer if you decide to bet on them. Liberty is coming in at 27-4 as the top seed and will play every game at home where they’re 14-0, but -450 is absolute insanity, especially after entering the tournament after a loss to Lipscomb.

North Florida’s first two games of the tournament as a 2 seed will be at home where they are 12-1 this season, so it’s a pretty good bet the Ospreys will be a part of the championship game. North Florida already beat Liberty this season and lost to them by five two weeks ago. Given the value differences, my money is going on North Florida to be the Atlantic Sun tournament champs.
