Tywone Malone recruiting: Decision day for 4-star defensive tackle

Update: Tywone Malone announced on Wednesday that he will play college football and baseball at Ole Miss.

 

A significant number of college football recruits for the class of 2021 signed their national letters of intent in the Early Signing Period in December, but there are plenty of talented prospects announcing their decision on National Signing Day including defensive tackle Tywone Malone. Players in the 2021 class can sign on National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 3 and can do so anytime before the Aug. 1 deadline.

Let’s get to know a little more about Malone and where he might end up. He is expected to make his decision on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET live on ESPN2.

Tywone Malone Recruiting bio

Tywone Malone is a four-star defensive tackle according to the 247Sports Composite player rankings and attends Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey. He is ranked 62nd nationally in the composite and is the sixth-highest ranked safety and No. 1 prospect from the state of New Jersey. He is 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds.

One item to note is he wants play baseball at the college level.

Malone saw a significant amount of scholarship offers from FBS schools according to 247Sports, which includes Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kent State, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UMass, USC, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Tywone Malone chopped his list down to six schools through a Twitter post in October that featured Florida State, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Tennessee, USC and Texas A&M.
