Missouri Valley tournament gambling preview

Deceptive Speed will break down every single conference tournament from a gambling perspective the day each tourney starts. You’ve lost quite a bit of money this month in the past whether it’s food, drinks, gambling or bracket pools. The goal for 2020 is to make you some money in March for the first time in your entire life.

We’ve reached the third day of the conference tourney season. Next up, we’ve got the Missouri Valley tournament. Let’s dive in.

The Bracket

The Bracketology

Deceptive Speed Bracketology is giving Northern Iowa a 12 seed, but a loss in the Missouri Valley tournament could provide an issue for their tournament hopes.

The Odds

Northern Iowa -110
Loyola Chicago +400
Indiana State +650
Bradley +700
Missouri State +900
Valparaiso +1500
Southern Illinois +2200
Drake +4000
Illinois State +6500
Evansville +9000

The Suck

Remember when Evansville beat Kentucky in November? If you have any sort of life, probably not but I recall. Now that same Evansville team is winless in conference play and has the worst odds to win the Missouri Valley tournament. Bet $10 on them for a $900 return. Go ahead and do that and tell me how it goes.

The Bet

Northern Iowa is the best team in the Missouri Valley tournament, but the -110 odds ain’t so good. We’ll be investing in Loyola Chicago, which played Northern Iowa as evenly as possible with two overtime matchups during the regular season. If Sister Jean is still with us, let’s get her and the Ramblers back in the March Madness discussion.
