Arch Manning: Clemson is out, but list of potential schools grows

The recruitment of Arch Manning has been as secretive as can be. He cannot be found on social media and does not do interviews. Information can be difficult to find as the nation’s top recruit for the class of 2023 closes in on a decision over the coming months.

As difficult as it is to find new information on Manning’s recruiting process, it’s even tougher to know who to trust. Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports is about as reliable as it gets in college football recruiting and on Wednesday, he reported Manning’s father Cooper Manning told him he is not down to just two schools as a recent report revealed.

According to Wiltfong’s report, the number of programs going after Manning aggressively is actually growing thanks due to the coaching staff changes with the LSU Tigers and Florida Gators. Others in pursuit include the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels and Texas Longhorns. The Clemson Tigers are reportedly out of the picture.

Manning’s recruitment has been so secretive that only one recruiting reporter among the four major recruiting sites has even made a prediction on the player who basically has his pick of any program in college football. The only prediction came from Woody Wommack of Rivals in December, and he projected Manning to Alabama.

Manning is rated as the No. 1 overall 2023 prospect on all four major recruiting sites and attends Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
