McNamara is rated as a 2-star recruit on 247Sports, and the site reported the FIU Golden Panthers were his lone FBS scholarship offer. McNamara joins 4-star quarterback AJ Duffy as the two quarterbacks in the Seminoles’ 2022 recruiting class.

Jordan Travis is highly likely to be Florida State’s starting QB in Week 1 this fall without any college experience behind him. McKenzie Milton is off preparing for the NFL, and Chubba Purdy transferred away to the Nebraska Cornhuskers last month.

With Travis entrenched as the starter, Duffy and Tate Rodemaker will battle for the backup job as the three scholarship quarterbacks. McNamara joins Gino English as walk-on quarterbacks on the Florida State roster.

Florida State already has a quarterback commit for the class of 2023 with 4-star prospect Chris Parson.

The Seminoles are headed into Year 3 under Mike Norvell coming off a 5-7 overall record last season as he looks to turn around a program that hasn’t finished with regular season above .500 since 2016.
