Leon spent the last three years in the UConn program after starting his college football career with the NC State Wolfpack. He threw a pass in just one game for the Huskies in 2021 and completed 10 of 13 passes for 62 yards against the Houston Cougars in the regular season finale.

The Huskies have been busy in the transfer portal with the quarterback position as they landed former Penn State Nittany Lions QB Ta’Quan Roberson in addition to former Oregon Ducks/Northern Arizona QB Cale Millen. UConn lost Jack Zergiotis, who transferred to Merrimack.

Elsewhere in the QB room, Tyler Phommachanh is recovering from a torn ACL, which ended his season after he developed into the team’s starting quarterback in 2021. Steven Krajewski filled in to start the remainder of the season. Both Phommachanh and Krajewski are still on the roster.

The Huskies landed 3-star prospect Zion Turner to their 2022 recruiting class.

UConn is heading into Year 1 with Jim Mora, who is tasked with turning around a program that hasn’t seen a ton of positivity in recent seasons. The Huskies are coming off a 1-11 season and are 1-36 in their last 37 games against FBS opponents.

Micah Leon did not have a star rating from any of the major recruiting sites and attended American Heritage School of Boca/Delray in Delray Beach, Florida.
